The quality of light changes from Season to Season. Winter's light is pale with blue tones. Summer's light seems bright, hot, and intense. Autumn's is like golden champagne.
The light of Spring carries a hopeful quality filled with the potential of growth and expansion. I welcome it into my rooms and gardens. It's qualities seem most apparent in the morning.
A slowly moving pool of light creeps along the floor and up the wall. Early morning is a time to sit and contemplate the coming day cossetted with a cup of raspberry leaf tea.
The red dining room has its own way with light which warms the honeyed maple floor.
Light flows in watery patterns and waves...
...and makes the red walls glow as if lit from within.
Light paints the front walk in shadows of lattice.
An early morning glow casts feline and foliage shadows and the photographer's form into a study in contrast.
And, at day's end light gleams in rose and gold on the nearby mountain heights.
