This view out my second floor window shows piles of snow that have been raised by snowplowing throughout this "colder, wetter" Winter predicted by the National Weather Service.
And, as of Friday morning - now extending through this weekend until 10:00 p.m. Monday night - people in northern Washington State and Idaho are advised to stay home as "travel will be hazardous to impossible".
Fortunately, it's a weekend and most people will have the luxury, and safety, of staying home.
Even so, I have seen intrepid, daring, and ill-advised people scraping snow off their vehicles, and from in front of their garages, and heading out skidding, sliding, and getting stuck in drives and avenues that snow plows are yet unable to reach.
From my second floor balcony I can see that this crab apple tree's trunk is half-buried in fallen snow.
And just as snow was melting off rooftops, yesterday's and today's ongoing snowfall has piled it back on with two and a half more days and nights to go.
I'm often amazed by what some folks consider necessary travel (Hint...recreational shopping is NOT necessary travel)!
What am I going to do?
I'm going to attend to my "creature" comforts! Sitting. Reading. Knitting. Cozying up to my fireplace. Sipping hot cocoa. Relaxing. Cocooning. Making something yummy to eat. Enjoying a few "snow days" at home.
