Yesterday was a balmy Spring day! I wandered about, camera in hand, taking photos of growing things and things in bloom. Ah...Spring!
The Nanking cherry bushes in the back garden and all around the Cottage are in bloom! The peach and almond trees are also beginning to bloom. The plum tree is covered with buds that will burst open at any time.
The wild, black currant bushes with their sweetly-scented yellow blossoms are just now blooming. Their plump black berries - looking similar to a blueberry - are much anticipated by the Chicken Girls and me. Delicious made into jellies, and giving a rich berry flavor to wine, I also freeze them for Winter use in smoothies.
The blackberries and raspberries are just beginning to stir back into life.
Soon there will be rhubarb pie, cobbler, sauce and more to enjoy! The rhubarb plants are putting forth their crisp, tart stalks. They love growing under the drip line of the block barn where they are sheltered from the wind.
Tiny blue catmint blossoms and tulips are now making the bees happy and giving them something to visit. Bees of all types, love catmint flowers.
The daffodils are up and blooming in patches all around! It's delightful to welcome each beloved plant back from its Winter dormancy.
...and then this morning, I awakened to this!
...and this!
...and it fell all the day long!
...and gave all those lovely blooming, awakening things a deep watering!
