Once exposed to the windy Utah atmosphere, my Wind Girl turned and twisted on errant breezes and seasonal gales.
Exposed to not only the wind, but rain and snow, too, my Wind Girl grew battered and grey. Now, freshly painted and in a sheltered, stable spot, she's at rest and at peace on my covered balcony.
Like my Wind Girl, we can become fraught by life's turbulence. While there are some things beyond our control, there is much that is within our power to alleviate.
One of the most cumbersome problems most of us face today is debt. It seems that whichever way we turn we are hemmed in and surrounded by bills that are due (even over due), and payments on credit cards, automobiles, and mortgages or rent that are engineered (yes, intended and planned) to keep us captive for decades, and longer.
Debt might just be the biggest cause of stress and anxiety in our modern lives...oh, and the need to work long hours in order to simply stay even with, or gasping and panting in what seems to be a losing race. The burden of ongoing and ever-increasing debt is one of the premier causes of marital and family tensions.
Debt, long work hours, lots to do, puts a strain on individuals and families.
Happily, there are things one can do and adopt to reduce debt and create more time to enjoy the things life has to offer that are free or cost little, and have time to rest, relax, socialize, nap, and to work less.
There are also some lifestyle modalities that I'll be sharing that will enable one to get more out of life with less stress while spending less money.
These modalities are:
Elective Frugality
Easy Elegance
Natural Abundance
Simple Grace
Together, in the next post, we'll tackle credit card debt which is one of the greatest personal burdens, hazards, and cause of stress and anxiety in our society today. And, it is nearly ubiquitous. Furthermore, it enriches a very few while impoverishing the rest of us. I'll share with you how I, some years ago, freed myself of this abundance-diminishing burden. You can do it too. It takes a little time but the rewards are so very worth it...so worth it that you'll happily vow to never get caught in the credit card trap again!
Like my Wind Girl we can each find shelter from the storm and in that cosseted place of personal peace we can truly enjoy the wonders and delights that life has to offer.
